What
Bid Management is the Process of submitting a Sales Proposal (AKA "bid") through to handover to whoever is going to make the bid work (eg, a Project Co-ordinator) or attending the Mini Post-Implementation Review (PIR) at the end of the Pre-Sales project lifecycle phase should the bid be unsuccessful.

Why
With large Sales Proposals, there is a requirement to manage the Sales Proposal submitting Process because of the large number of Activities to be performed as well as the requirement to co-ordinate a large number of resources.

Bid Management starts during the Phase Zero project lifecycle phase and progresses through the Acquisition stage.
