Best Practice Mentor

PMMentor (PMM)

Overview

PMMentor (PMM) is a full project lifecycle methodology for managing IT projects. It has been developed over the past 30 years and represents the Best Practice towards both Development and Acquisition projects.

PMMentor (PMM) recognises that projects do not operate within a vacuum, but are intimately related to people issues, the techniques being employed, underlying concepts and themes (ie, Corporate Culture) as well as the process being followed.

While PMMentor (PMM) is a "paper-based" methodology, its delivery mechanism is via fast online display screens which are extensively cross referenced. PMMentor (PMM) also (optionally) integrates with PMComplete™.

PMMentor (PMM) consists of over 3,500 pages of explanations, techniques, tips, tricks, forms and check lists. Many pages have diagrams which assist both in understanding the material as well as providing quick and easy hypertext links to underlying material.

Anywhere within PMMentor (PMM) you can quickly and easily:

  1. Copy information into the Microsoft Windows' Clipboard for subsequent pasting into the document of your choice.

  2. Print PMMentor (PMM) material.

  3. Search on keywords.

  4. Browse page-by-page through the online documentation.

  5. Jump from one page in the material to another via hypertext links.

Concepts and Themes

To make a methodology work, you need to have many underlying concepts, themes and principals. These concepts and themes need to be simple, effective and easy for everyone to understand. PMMentor (PMM) presents over 50 of these.

Putting It All Together

To make projects successful you need to have a clear understanding of not just the "what's" but also the "why's" of the methodology. These are addressed throughout the material in ways that make it easy to understand and follow.
