Documentation Management

Documentation Management

What

Document Management is the Process of managing the documentation deliverables of a project.

Process Diagram

Documentation Management consists of the following major Procedures:

  1. Plan Document

  2. Develop Document

  3. Type Document

  4. Inspect Document

  5. Revise Document

  6. Distribute Document

  7. File in Document Library

  8. Revise Document

  9. Obsolete Document

Why

Documentation deliverables are usually more cumbersome than programs because of the need to produce multiple copies, manage Distribution Lists and the need to conform to Documentation Style Standards.

When and Where

This technique is used throughout the whole project lifecycle and is not limited to any specific project lifecycle phase.
